Good yoga DVD’s? Any suggestions?
Hi, I’m wondering if anyone could tell me about a good yoga DVD they’ve tried. There are sooooo many out there, it’s overwhelming. I would hate to just pick one, and pray it’s a good one! I am very active in pilates and I understand that yoga is more about breathing and meditation, however, I am looking for one with a bit of a higher skill level. Thanks ahead of time!
You might like to check out Shiva Rea’s “Yoga Shakti”, a vinyasa style practice.
I got it a lttle while ago, have watched some of it, but haven’t done a practice following along with it yet.
It’s unique in that it allows you to ‘program’ it to link segments you choose, to somewhat create your own practice.
If interested in Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga style, either Melanie Fawer’s dvd (think she has just one), or David Swenson’s “Ashtanga Yoga: The Practice, First Series” are high quality instuction.
And if you desire to get deeper into aspects such as pranayama and meditation thru your yoga practice, I highly recommend Dharma Mittra’s “Maha Sadhana, level 1.”
