What’s a good social work program to take to get a BSW?
Hi
I want to transform my Bachelor of Arts degree into a Bachelor of Social Work. (I’m not sure I can do a Masters as I don’t have a bachelor of social work to begin with). But I don’t want to study family violence or addictions, I’m more into holistic health and helping kids/preteens with depression. I’m very sensitive myself and i just can’t take the studying of violence/addictions. I may want to help overweight kids with self esteem issues as well.
Is there any program you know of where there is a more holistic approach to social work, that deals mostly eith family dynamics, self esteem and such? It would be great if I could take just a few courses to upgrade my degree too. Online is fine for me.
If you have any other career advice for me, that would be helpful. I was thinking of being a “life coach,” but then I don’t have the wherewithall to start my own private practice in it.
Thanks a lot.
Its always nice to view a individual interested in social work. And the best way to go for it is going professional way. Know one site that offers list of colleges that offer almost all the online courses. You can check your course there hope they offer it. Go to http://www.thedegreeexperts.com/ here just enter the course and it will display the list of colleges offering it.

Holistic Education by Rudge, Lucila T. [Paperback] $151.35 The holistic education movement emerged in the mid1980s as a response to the then dominant worldview of mainstream education. It is an educational paradigm that integrates the idealistic ideas of humanistic education with spiritual philosophical ideas. Holistic education theorists propose an integration of what most progressive and democratic movements in education assume should be kept separate: spirituality and humanistic ideals. While these two paradigms may be combined philosophically, the author questions whether they can be jointly applied in a single approach to education. This book investigates this question by exploring the pedagogical application of the philosophical principles advocated by leading theorists in the field of holistic education in four selected school systems: Waldorf Schools, Montessori Schools, Reggio Emilia Schools, and Neohumanist Schools. The analysis and detailed description of the pedagogy in these school systems helps illuminate issues involved in the application of holistic education. This book will be especially useful to educators who are seeking to broaden their understanding of the theory and practice of holistic education. Author: Rudge, Lucila T. Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 176 Publication Date: 2010/10/12 Language: English Dimensions: 6.00 x 9.02 x 0.41 inches |
