I am doing a diploma in beauty therapy and want to open my own salon next year offering classic beauty treatments as well as holistic therapies. Is it hard to succeed or does it really depend on where you are and your business acumen?

With the economy crisis right now, people are budgeting as best they can, which means business’ including beauty salon’s are suffering, however if you advertise your branch at low prices, offers and make it look really stylish and appealing, you’ll bring in punters no problem. If they think your place looks legit, posh and top quality looking, yet your advertising treatments at a cheap price it will definately appeal. Look into all your competetor’s, do your research and find out what local, and worldwide beauty branch’s are offering, and then try and beat them, if possible, by improving their offers and deals. Don’t forget you need to make a profit. Your business needs to be unique and distinctive to do well. Just do your research, don’t jump into anything straight away, successful business’ take years to develop, but you can get there and do really well! There’s good money in successful business’, and it’s a great career.
