Are there any Holistic Optometrists in the Los Angeles area?

When I ask for Holistic Optometrist I mean are there any doctors that are willing to give patients lower prescriptions to improve eye sight through exercises/other ways to heal the eyes? I keep getting stronger prescriptions over the years and my eyes and around my eye areas keep getting more and more strained, and in consequence I am getting headaches and feeling stressed out. I am willing to take the time to get rid of my glasses naturally, and doing all the methods daily as much as possible and giving my eyes a break from glasses. I have also found optometrists that do this but I have only found a handful and are very far from where I live, either out of state or hours away. I am looking for a holistic doctor that is by the Hollywood/Los Feliz area. If anyone has had any experience in this could you please point me to a doctor asap. Peace and love.

I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting to find a regular optometrist that’s going to do anything to get you out of glasses. It’s like looking for a regular doctor that will recommend all holistic treatments instead of pharmaceuticals. It’s typically not in their training, and would also negatively affect their income, so…
i do have two friends that have delved into this subject some. The first saw a licensed vision therapist and after a couple of years worth of work is now free of her contacts and glasses which is awesome. The second person was in more of a ‘self taught’ mode. She purchased several books about eye therapy and is doing several eye exercises at home…some of them the exact same exercises my other friend was doing through her therapist. There are several great books out there about strengthening your eyes. The one I’m familiar with is called ‘Take off your glasses and see’. You can find it and some others on amazon.
