Ear infection?
I’ve had an ear infection for years (roughly 5). I’ve seen my doctor many times and have been referred to an ENT twice. My General Practitioner insists there’s nothing wrong with me, if anything, just mild irritation from my itching.
The first time I went to my ENT, he said I had a staph infection in my ear, so I used antibiotics and they didn’t work. So I went again a few months later and he said everything looked okay. However, day in and day out, my ears itch severely. I use Q-Tips (I know I shouldn’t, but it’s the only relief) and this might be TMI, but they get covered in a yellowish, foul smelling substance (wax?). I’ve been told to use Hydrogen Peroxide in my ear by a friend… the fizzing gives temporary relief, but that’s about it.
Considering I’m not getting any help from medical professionals, I was wondering if there were some holistic or other remedies for my ear problem? I’m scared I’m causing permanent damage or that I might go deaf.
I had a similar problem several years ago. It just kept getting worse and worse. I went to several doctors and tried everything possible that I thought might work. I spent over $500.00 on medications and I still had it. I mentioned it to my friend who is a state trooper, and he said he used an over the counter product called Swim Ear. I went to WalMart immediately, and haven’t been bothered with it since. I think the water buuilds up in your ears when you take a shower, swim,etc. and that causes it. I don’t know that this would work for you, but it would be worth trying since the medicine was about $2.00. I still use it faithfully every day. Good Luck and God Bless!!!!!
