Do you know of any schools that offer counseling, psychology and nutrition, wellness?
I have a BA in Psych and Im looking for an accredited graduate program that offers a counseling and nutrition combination. Im looking towards more of a holistic program and approach. If i cant find one i’m just going to do my masters in MFT. I have been looking into Health Psychology, but don’t know a whole lot yet about the filed. I do plan to open a private practice in the long term that includes psychological counseling and an emphasis in good nutrition. I want to help people dealing with obesity and other food related health issues as well as Lifestyle education.
Keep in mind I live in California
Any advice…
Please only serious responses, thanks!
Sure
Cal Poly SLO
Cal Poly Pomona
CSU Fresno
CSU Long Beach
CSU LA [not a desirable campus]
CSU Northridge
CSU San Bernardino
UC-Berkeley
UC – Davis
Keep in mind that you will need a MSW or PhD to be a licensed counselor – perhaps a MSW/MS Nutrition would be a good program.
Now you need to do some research into each of these schools and see which has programs that you can amend to fit your goal – which is pretty cool. I sincerely wish you well and success.

Holistic Horizons Skin Brush $10.69 For Dry Skin Brushing Description : Skin Brush is used for dry skin brushing to stimulate cleansing of the lymphatic system. It is a long handled bath-type brush with natural vegetable bristles. This brush must not be used for bathing since it needs to be kept dry. Like the colon, the lymphatic system can contain stagnant waste matter. To feel the full benefit of the Robert Gray Intestinal Cleansing Program, it is important to use skin brushing to stimulate and cleanse the lymphatic system. Once the colon is at least partially cleansed, it takes a few months of daily skin brushing to completely cleanse the system. You should begin skin brushing at the same time you begin the program. Use a long-handled brush with natural vegetables bristles. Keep this brush dry and do not use it for bathing. When you perform skin brushing, your body should be dry, and should move the brush once over every body surface except your face, using a clean sweeping motion. Do not use any back and forth motion, circular motion, scrubbing, nor massaging. One clean sweep is all you need. Start brushing at your neck, and then move down your trunk, brushing generally the direction of the lower abdomen. Also brush across the top of your shoulders and upper back, and brush up your arms, legs, and buttocks. Done properly, this technique takes no more than four or five minutes to perform and is very stimulating and invigorating. You should practice skin brushing daily for a period of three months, no mater how long you take the intestinal cleansing products. Therefore, you should only perform skin brushing twice weekly, allowing three to four days between each brushing. It is best to always perform skin brushing on the same two days of every week. |

Holistic Education by Rudge, Lucila T. [Paperback] $151.35 The holistic education movement emerged in the mid1980s as a response to the then dominant worldview of mainstream education. It is an educational paradigm that integrates the idealistic ideas of humanistic education with spiritual philosophical ideas. Holistic education theorists propose an integration of what most progressive and democratic movements in education assume should be kept separate: spirituality and humanistic ideals. While these two paradigms may be combined philosophically, the author questions whether they can be jointly applied in a single approach to education. This book investigates this question by exploring the pedagogical application of the philosophical principles advocated by leading theorists in the field of holistic education in four selected school systems: Waldorf Schools, Montessori Schools, Reggio Emilia Schools, and Neohumanist Schools. The analysis and detailed description of the pedagogy in these school systems helps illuminate issues involved in the application of holistic education. This book will be especially useful to educators who are seeking to broaden their understanding of the theory and practice of holistic education. Author: Rudge, Lucila T. Holistic Model for Quality in Higher Education $133.82 The issue of quality has been a central to the debate on the performance of higher education for the past three decades. Critical analysis of the current situation indicates that there is a serious dichotomy between the academics and the funding bodies in relation to the measures adopted for quality. To develop a new approach, a detailed review of quality in higher education is carried out from different perspectives. A basis for a model for quality in higher education is developed by combining the practices advocated by several educationallyoriented models along with, the industriallypopular, Total Quality Management (TQM) model. A detailed analysis is carried out to identify the key features of the model. A methodology for the implementation of the model across the campus is developed. The implications of the model to higher education is discussed from several points of view. The conclusions seem to indicate a strong potential of the model to Holisticallyaddress the issues of quality in higher education. The developments carried out in the book should be of great interest to university executives as well as academics interested in management issues in higher education.
