Holistic food for dogs is available in a wide range of brands, but you should know that products from all brands may not be the perfect fit for your dog. The natural and holistic pet food companies promise to use high quality ingredients and filler free products, but as a pet owner it is your responsibility to insure that you are making the right choice, as far as holistic pet food is concerned.  Holistic pet foods have high nutrient contents and are made with natural elements mixed in it, so the cost of such food is on the higher side, but the advantages associated with such food like increased energy and overall health are so overwhelming that the cost factor is easily made up by good health and lower medical bills. But it is difficult to find good natural or holistic diet foods in the market today and hence it is important that you do a careful research.

A good pet food product will mean that it does not contain any sort of by-product, man-made preservatives, colors or flavors, and no corn, wheat or soy.

The best diet for dogs

It might not be that simple to feed a dog a balanced vegan diet because they love to have more of non-vegetarian foods. The good diets for dogs ought to consist of 50% of grains that are boiled or steamed. They love to eat grated raw vegetables like carrot, yellow squash, Brussels sprout etc. Dogs also love to have fish, and they would eat it uncooked if they get the chance to do so.

It is good to measure their diet.  To do so mix 1 cup of grains with a measured quantity of vegetables and one measure of meat and this should contain required amount of vitamins and minerals in the diet. This is the best way to maintain your dog’s health and free them from any disease.
