Doctoring more than one type of animal?
I want to be a Veterinarian. I want to work with all types of animals, not just a specific type. So is it possible for me to be a Veterinarian and specialize in a certain field what works with many animals? I kinda want to work with Marine life, but still want to work with other types of animals(large, small, etc.) I’ve been doing research for the past 2 days and all I’ve found is Holistic Veterinarians and Laboratory Animal Medicine. Are there others out there?
There are tons of specialities. The majority of vets are small animal vets (dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, etc). There are also large animal vets (horses, cattle, sheep, etc), mixed large and small animal vets, exotic vets (exotic pets like snakes and birds), wildlife vets, zoo vets, marine vets…..I have never heard of a vet who practices marine medicine, like at an aquarium, and does small animal. But you could always do exotic/small animal mix. Once you get to vet school, you are exposed to many different types of practices, and that is when you really start to decide.
