Do i need a licence if i am a trained Reiki Practicioner in NJ?
I compleated all the courses at the New York International Reiki Center Inc. in NY and they told me that with the certification that i receive i am able to do reiki to others…but once i asked them if it was the same for NJ they weren’t sure so i’m a little confused and want to know how that works…also, i’m starting a small at home business, mostly home calls and not sure if i should do a single proprietorship or small corporations, i was advised corporation because of the tax issues (would be cheaper)….any ideas?
Write to the state health department of NJ and ask them. In my state (Washington) Reiki people cannot actually touch a client (hands must be held above them) unless you are a massage therapist, minister, doctor, PT, nurse, etc.
You must ask your town for their licensing procedures (business license, etc.).
