What is Reiki therapy? Is it useful in curing diseases?

Reiki is a form of energy healing conducted by the laying on of hands (sometimes called faith healing) and it is channeled by intention. A practitioner uses a variety of hand positions to send energy to the patient where it is most needed.

Reiki has been proven to alleviate the symptoms of depression, anxiety, stress and pain conditions (esp in cancer patients). It is not known to cure diseases and nor should it be advertised as such.
