School Of Holistic Medicine

Considering my circumstances is my goal attainable?

I really want to be a doctor particularly one who specializes in holistic medicine- however as much as I love biology and life/earth science, I’m terrible at chemistry!!! All math-based sciences are just so hard for my to grasp and apply!

Is there any hope at me reaching my goal, even though math is a serious weak-point for me? I’m just afraid that no medical school will accept me if I don’t do well/don’t take many chem/math classes! Also I think that med school will be hell if math is hard for me- is this true?

I’m currently an incoming college sophomore. Also please don’t give me a cheesy “anything is possible if you try!” I mean, that’s very sweet of you :) but I want to know my REAL chances. :(

Thanks for help!

Med school admissions are VERY competitive, and usually 2 semesters of organic chemistry is a requirement. However, organic chemistry is not math-based and is very different from general chemistry you may have had before. You may find it easier although it involves lots of memorization. You will need math for the MCAT though, as it involves physics and such. It is indeed possible for you, but you really have to work on your weaknesses, not just hope your other skills will make up for them.
