Spiritual Transformation:?
I need to go through some type of transformation to make myself a better person. I.e, me and & my parents always arguing, me and my siblings acting horrible toward each other. I either need to know how to change, or some things I can do to form a stronger relationship with my family. Plus, Its really hurting my 2 year old daughter seeing grammpy and grammy fighting with mommy. And my husband suggested some things. So we tried them and they didn’t really help much. So I decided to ask the people of Yahoo answers. Please help, Thank you, Kaylee.
Gandhi said, “Be the change you want to see in others.” Start by keeping your mouth shut long enough to decide how you really want to react to any given situation. It’s simple to say, “You might be right,” instead of telling five reasons why they might be wrong. Also, try to put some physical distance between yourself and the people you’re arguing with. If simple suggestions aren’t helpful, maybe you need a therapist to help you become a bit different. Good luck.

The Raw Transformation $16.46 Raw foods were once the province of fanatics more interested in the health benefits than in flavor. Now, says Wendy Rudell, it’s possible to have both. Developed over a lifetime of healthy living, and tested by the author while teaching a raw food program at a San Diego spa, the recipes in this lively book blend wholesome ingredients with scrumptious taste. Part one introduces raw cuisine, giving information on nutrition and the benefits of adopting this lifestyle. It connects raw food to other modalities — such as yoga, breathwork, meditation, and bioenergetic resonance — to enable the whole process of physical, emotional, and spiritual transformation. Parts two and three feature over 300 recipes that are diverse and simple to make, with readily available ingredients. They include mouth-watering entrees like Indian Vegetable Curry and Pad Thai, irresistible desserts such as Banana Coconut Cream Piece, and a wide variety of salads, breads, crackers, side dishes, shakes, smoothies, soups, marinades, dressings, dips, and more. Transformation Through Menopause $181.04 This volume presents a holistic, theoretical framework for understanding menopause as a major developmental event in womens lives. Rather than an unpleasant phase to be endured or alleviated, Marian Van Eyk McCain views menopause as an empowering experience that women can use for personal growth. Artfully interweaving her research, years of clinical experience, and her personal perceptions of menopause to create an inspiring new vision of the change of life. She goes well beyond a discussion of hormones and hot flashes to uncover the deep emotional and spiritual significance of this time in womens lives. This book is not only about change on a personal or physical level but in society as well. McCain lays out historical and crosscultural beliefs about menstruation and menopause and the attitudes surrounding them (from taboos to reverence) and points out that in our modern society women most often either try to ignore or make it through this essential period of womanhood in order to compete in a mans world on male terms. In tune with recent feminist thought, the author says there is a new womanpower emerging, which means that it is time for women to honor their natural cycles. There is no other book that combines the insights, inspiration, and wealth of information contained in this work. It is an important book for the alternativeminded babyboom generation who are seeking new ways to approach middle age. Author: McCain, Marian Van Eyk/ Van Eyk McCain, Marian Binding Type: Hardcover Number of Pages: 200 Publication Date: 1991/09/30 Language: English Dimensions: 5.51 x 8.50 x 0.62 inches |

Lost in Transformation: Two Years in Angola $28.51 Angola is undergoing dramatic transformations. When the civil war finally came to an end in 2002, the former Portuguese colony opened a new chapter in its history, filled with hopes for a bright future. Indeed, Angola seems to have found political stability and has embarked on a path of economic growth that is among the strongest in the world. Moreover, it has immense tourist potential, which is still untapped. In stark contrast, many Angolans continue to struggle, as poverty and corruption are rife. Nonetheless, the people of Angola are masters of survival and champions of joy and celebration. Peter Matz lived in Angola from 2005 to 2007. During this time, he experienced many of the highs and lows the country has to offer, propelling him into a journey of spiritual transformation. Among other events, he recalls being robbed at a basketball game, getting beaten up by a jilted date, twice finding his car mysteriously gone, and having his drivers license confiscated by uniformed bandits. But transcending these colorful events of daily life was the overwhelming beauty of the plentiful beaches and the striking landscape, and even more so, the spirit, faith and friendship of the Angolan people. The book is illustrated with many of Peters own pictures that illustrate the diversity and abounding paradoxes of Angola. Practical travel advice for visitors to Luanda, Angolas capital, is provided in the appendix. Author: Matz, Peter Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 164 Publication Date: 2008/07/01 Language: English Dimensions: 8.50 x 5.50 x 0.35 inches |
